FAQ

"How often should I clean my sifter?"     
Ideally, any litter box should be cleaned at least once every 1 - 2 weeks, with warm soapy water.  

"How does sifting work?"
It's very easy! For pelletized litter like Timber Kitty, simply place the sifter tray on top of a solid tray, then fill it with Timber. Once liquids come into contact with Timber, first make sure to scoop out any solid waste, then lift the sifter above the solid tray and rock it side-to-side. This will shake the used sawdust loose and will fall to the tray to be discarded. Place the sifter back onto a clean tray, then voilà! 

"Why is using a sifter better than a regular litter box?"
It's much simpler to use! Using a sifter makes it easier to segregate used Timber from fresh ones, which in turn means that you're able to use less and save more. A win-win!  

"Can I use this with other types of litter?"
Definitely! While best paired with our Timber Kitty, it can definitely be used in conjunction with other litters as well without any issues. 

"When I use my Timber Kitty, some small granules fall through the sifter - is this normal?"
Yes it is! It's inevitable that some smaller particles of Timber will fall through the sifter. The good news is that these small granules aid with odour control, especially when they come into contact with water in the tray. 

"Do I need this to use Timber Kitty?"
Absolutely not! Timber Kitty works perfectly well with a regular litter box - but using a sifter will make cleaning up much easier, tidier, and painless.
